Everest Masters Cricket Team enjoyed a successful and memorable tour of Brazil, finishing their four-match series unbeaten with two victories, a thrilling tie, and one no-result due to rain. The tour showcased the team’s experience and resilience as they continued their impressive form in 2026.
The Guyanese began the tour with a convincing performance against Carioca Cricket Club. Batting first, Everest posted 158-9 from their 20 overs, with Anil Beharry getting 29 to anchor the innings.
In response, the hosts fought hard but were restricted to 140-9 in their 20 overs, falling 18 runs short.
Seamer, Ariel Tilku produced a disciplined spell of 3-23 from his four overs to help Everest Masters secure the early victory.
In their second outing, Everest Masters took on Sao Paulo Cricket Club. The visitors batted first reaching 104-6 after 18 overs before rain halted proceedings. Hemraj Garbarran top scored with 36 in what was turning out to be a thrilling affair.
No further play was possible which forced the officials to declare the game a no result.
The third match saw Everest Masters return to the field determined to continue their momentum against Sao Paulo. Their bowlers set the tone early, dismissing the opposition for 78 in 16.2 overs. Shazam Ramjohn was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets.
Everest Masters then chased down the target with relative comfort, reaching 79-6 in 12 overs to secure a four-wicket victory. Lookeshwar Mahabeer lead the way with 19 runs.
The tour concluded with a dramatic contest against Carioca Cricket Club. Batting first, Everest Masters rattled up a solid 149-7 total from their 20 overs, highlighted by Anil Beharry’s top score of 40, while Raja Pooran added 32.
Carioca CC responded strongly and managed to match the total, finishing on 149-8 from their 20 overs, resulting in a thrilling tie. Everest Masters bowling effort was once again led by Lookeshwar Mahabeer, who snapped up four scalps.
At the conclusion of the tour, individual performances were recognized; Anil Beharry was named Best Batsman for his consistent contributions throughout the series, while Shazam Ramjohn earned the Best Bowler award for his impactful spells with the ball.
Captain Rajesh Singh expressed pride in his team’s performance, praising their commitment and teamwork during the tour. He also welcomed further opportunities for collaboration and competitive cricket following the successful visit.
