The Everest Masters are gearing up for an exciting international assignment as they travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for a four-match T20 series. The tour will see the Masters facing Carioca Cricket Club, São Paulo Cricket Club and the Brazil Masters Cricket Team in what promises to be a competitive and culturally enriching cricket exchange. The series forms part of efforts to strengthen cricketing ties and promote the sport’s continued development in South America.
Leading the touring squad is Rajesh Singh with Lookeshwar Mahabeer serving as vice-captain. Mahabeer’s leg-spin bowling is expected to be a major weapon on tour, particularly on unfamiliar surfaces, while wicketkeeper Fazal Khan will provide stability behind the stumps with support from Robert Perreira and former West Indies Under-19 wicketkeeper, Hemraj Garbarran. The squad features a strong mix of experience and all-round capability, including Anil Beharry, whose off-spin offers control in the middle overs, and Shazam Ramjohn, currently in impressive form with both bat and ball. Also included in the touring party are Raja Pooran, Ariel Tilku, Basil Persaud, Vishaun Lall, Bhesham Ramkhellawan, Satyendra Khemraj and Rohan Sarjoo giving the team depth in both batting and bowling departments.
The Everest Masters, who are, so far, unbeaten in 2026, head into the tour with confidence and balance, aiming to combine disciplined bowling, aggressive stroke play and sharp fielding across the four T20 encounters.
Speaker of the National Assembly and President of Everest Cricket Club, Manzoor Nadir met the team on Tuesday night ahead of their departure further in the Amazon.
Nadir urged the side to have fun while being good ambassadors of the game and Guyana.
The trip has been made possible through the generous support of sponsors including Rajace Auto Plus, The New Doctors Clinic, General Marine Company, Triple R Car and Apartment Rentals, Triple R Auto Sales, L.
