The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) has announced the squads for the second three-day practice match as the Guyana Harpy Eagles intensity their preparation for the upcoming regional competitions.
The match, set for March 17 to 19 at the Everest Cricket Club Ground, forms a key part of the Board’s structured build-up aimed at sharpening player readiness. The ongoing practice series is designed to give players valuable match time while allowing selectors to assess form, fitness and overall preparedness for possible inclusion in the senior Guyana Harpy Eagles setup.
The opening encounter in the series ended in a draw, setting the stage for what is expected to be a more competitive second outing.
One side will be captained by Test player Tevin Imlach and features a strong mix of youth and experience, including Navendra Persaud, Raymond Perez, Ushadeva Balgobin, Kevlon Anderson, Jonathan Van Lange, Kevin Sinclair, Junior Sinclair, Richie Looknauth, Nityanand Mathura, Sylus Tyndall, Isai Thorne, Tomanni Caesar, Gulcharran Chulai, Antony Adams and Romeo Deonarain.
Opposing them will be a team led by Matthew Nandu, with a lineup boasting several established and emerging players such as Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Kemol Savory, Mavendra Dindyal, Shamar Apple, Keemo Paul, Romario Ramdeholl, Veerasammy Permaul, Thaddeus Lovell, Ronaldo Ali-Mohamed, Nial Smith, Micah Amsterdam, Darwin Joseph, Zeynul Ramsammy, Chanderpaul Ramraj and Ari Afrizal Kadir.
The third and final match in the practice series is scheduled for March 22 to 24 at the Georgetown Cricket Club Ground.
All matches are set to commence at 09:30 hours as the GCB continues its efforts to ensure players are fully prepared for the challenges of regional cricket.
