Guyana suffered their third defeat in four matches when they went down to Trinidad and Tobago by 6 wickets on Monday in the CWI Rising Stars Under-19 Super50 in St Vincent and Grenadines.
It was another poor display with the bat for the Guyanese with the lower order showing resistance. Thaddeus Lovell top scored with 33 batting at number 9 while Shamar Yearwood made 29 and Rivaldo Phillips 20.
Yet again, the South Americans failed to bat their allotment of 50 overs falling for a paltry 146 from 40.1 overs after they were sent in at Arnos Vale.
For the twin island Republic, Andrew Rambarran snatched 4/27 while Ronilister Pereira finished with magical figures of 7.1-3-8-3.
In reply, T&T made light work of the run chase to finish on 136-4 from 38 overs to win by 6 wickets under the DLS method. Openers Justin Jaggesar (31) and Kyle Ramdoo (37) laid the foundation for the chase in the rain affected encounter. Only the consistent Jeremy Sandia threatened with 2/35 from his 10 overs.
Guyana will now play for pride when they take on home side, the Windward Islands in their final match of the Super50 leg of the tournament on Wednesday, July 12 at Park Hill.
