A blistering late assault from captain Akeem Dewar propelled the American Cricket Society (ACS) to a convincing 35-run victory over Enterprise Sports Club on Friday.
It was ACS’s second match of their Goodwill Tour of Guyana 2026.
With the victory, ACS-Everest moved to 2-0 on the 10-match tour.
The visitors opted to bat in sunny conditions on an even-paced track with lightning fast outfield and amassed an imposing 238-7 from their allotted 25 overs.
ACS’s innings was anchored by a polished knock from Randall Wilson, who struck 62 from 47 balls with four fours and three sixes to provide stability through the middle overs.
However, the real momentum shift came late in the innings when Dewar strode to the crease and unleashed a breathtaking counterattack.
The right-hander smashed an unbeaten 55 from just 22 deliveries, peppering the boundary with six towering sixes and a four at a remarkable strike rate of 250. His sparkling innings lifted ACS from a good position to a daunting total, leaving the Enterprise bowlers under severe pressure in the closing overs.
Enterprise’s bowlers had earlier managed some success through 61 year-old leg-spinner Chaterpaul Singh, who claimed 2-31, while Pandit Chandrapaul Tikaram also picked up two late wickets.
In reply, Enterprise fought admirably and were guided by a determined 63 from 52 balls by captain and former Test opener, Rajendra Chandrika. The right-hander struck four fours and two sixes while attempting to keep his side in the hunt.
Support came from Vivian Albert, who blasted 43 from 31 balls, while opener Himnauth Dindyal chipped in with a brisk 23.
Despite those efforts, the asking rate continued to climb as ACS-Everest’s bowlers struck at key moments. Enterprise-born ACS player, Bhaskar Yadram led the way with 2-29, while Justin Doobay (2-34) and Karan Ganesh (2-39) provided solid support.
Enterprise eventually closed on 203-9 from their 25 overs, falling 35 runs short of the target.
With the visitors now two wins from two matches, they will head to Malteenoes Sports Club brimming with confidence where they will defend their crown in the King of the Sixes tournament on Saturday.
The touring party and the action will be at Enmore on Sunday from 11:30 am.
