At GCC, Essequibo batted first and were bowled out for 203 in 41.2. The Demerara seamers were especially destructive as they claimed 7 of the 10 wickets to fall. Sherfane Rutherford and Ronaldo Ali-Mohamed both finished with identical figures of 3-37.
For Essequibo, Kemol Savory led with 36 while a 18-ball 32 from Quentin Sampson was the next best score of the innings.
Tagenarine Chanderpaul then led the chase with a well composed half-century to give his team their first win of the tournament. The West Indies Test opener finished unbeaten on 70 from 118 balls; an innings which included 6 fours and a six.
Contributions also came from Akshaya Persaud (41), Sherfane Rutherford (22), Tevin Imlach (21*) and Mavindra Dindyal (20). Anthony Adams was the most successful bowler for Essequibo with 2-46.

At Enmore, exceptional performances from Kevin Sinclair with bat and Veerasammy with ball carried Berbice to a 3-wicket win over GCB Select XI.
Batting first, GCB Select XI posted 188-9 mainly due to half centuries from Raymond Perez (52) and Christopher Barnwell (50). The only other batter to get past 20 was Joshua Persaud (21).
Skipper of the Berbice side, Veerasammy Permaul ran through the GCB Select XI batting and finished with figures of 5-40.
In reply, Berbice got off to a flyer thanks to a swashbuckling innings of 81 from Kevin Sinclair. His innings included 9 fours and 3 massive sixes. They lost wickets at regular intervals but the target of 189 was always within their sights. Contributions from Seon Glasgow (22), Seon Hetmyer (31) and Nigel Deodat (30) ensured that Berbice got over the line and secure themselves at the top of the table.
Isai Thorne picked up 2-30 and got support from Jonathan Rampersaud (2-10) but it was not enough to defend their total.
