Round 2 of the West Indies Rising Stars Under-19 Men’s 50-Over Championship saw comfortable victories for Jamaica, Leeward Islands and Windward Islands.
At Arnos Vale Playing Field, Kingstown
Jamaica U19 got the better of Trinidad and Tobago U19 by 6 wickets.
Batting first, Trinidad and Tobago lost wickets regularly throughout the innings. Many of their batters had starts but failed to capitalize which resulted in them being bowled out for 158 inside 48 overs.
Jamaica, in response, got to their target comfortably with the help of Johnson’s unbeaten 57.

At Cumberland, Leeward Islands U19 cruised past Guyana U19 winning by 8 wickets. Another collapse from the Guyanese top order put them under early pressure as only 2 of the top 8 batsmen got to double figures. It took cameos from Lovell (37) and Thorne (15) to take them up to 108. In their turn to bat, Leeward Islands got there quite easily compliments of an unbeaten half century from Walsh (52*).

At Sion Hill, Windward Islands U19 defeated Barbados U19 by 4 wickets.
Batting first, Barbados lost their opening batter on the first ball of the innings but recovered after a good partnership between Bowens and Dorne. When Bowens departed for 49, it triggered a massive collapse and they scraped their way up to 137. Windward Islands were tested but a composed 43 from Pascal ensured that Windward Islands clinch their second victory of the tournament.
